Chantal Consolini Thiébaud joined the International Volunteer Corps of ATD Fourth World in 1995, after ten years of involvement with the Alliance in Besançon, where she studied geology. Through her encounters and training within ATD Fourth World, she discovered the international dimension of the Movement.
In France, in Marseille, Lille, and later the Paris region, she worked alongside families, partners, and Fourth World activists to develop projects in which people experiencing poverty play a full and active role. She also contributed to Tapori International, ATD Fourth World’s children’s network, coordinated the Fourth World People’s University for six years, and took part in the international research project on the hidden dimensions of poverty, helping to develop a participatory research approach bringing together people with lived experience of poverty, academics, and practitioners.
In January 2020, she joined the Regional Delegation for Europe, where she supports members of the Movement in their commitments and fosters exchanges and collaboration across the continent.
Originally from eastern France, Chantal Consolini Thiébaud is married and the mother of two children. In 2026, she began a second term as a member of the International Leadership Team.
