Sister Jacinta now belongs to the Sisters of the Christian Community (SFCC) and works to improve the dignity of women and girls who are less fortunate and live in the poverty of the slums. “I have been at the service of this mission since 1991, when I entered religious life as a young professed sister, working alongside Sister Edel Bahati”.
She stills continue to work with the young single mothers who get pregnant while still in school and those who are from cultures which give away their daughters for marriage at a tender age to the old people as second or third wives.

« Some girls escape from these cultures and are willing to go back to school to continue with their education. What is difficult is to get funds to continue to help these women and their babies because some have no homes to go to and they need shelter and children upkeep while in school or colleges ».
