
The charity was established on 12/2/2019 by the initiative of a group of academic, professional and legal personalities in the Tukarem governorate. Karam obtained its license “SQT-9395-C” from the Ministry of Interior and set its primary objective to combat extreme poverty.
The administrative body of the charity consists of the 9 following members:

7- Anshirah Tayeh Muhammad Anbar - Social Committee
8- Samah Abdel-Hakim Farid Jarrad - Public and International Relations
9- Ameer Khalid Shakir Nayfee – Volunteer
Vision: Their aim is to provide support to Palestinian families in developmental issues locally and nationally.
Message: Providing an appropriate social climate by activating support and assistance programs to reach solutions in direct cooperation with individuals based on research to reach comprehensive development at the local and national levels.
Objectives:
– Developing a social body capable of achieving the highest meanings of integration and social solidarity to protect the vulnerable groups in the Palestinian community.
– Achieving community integration by activating the roles of different sectors of society, especially women and youth.
– Developing programs to help combat extreme poverty in Palestine by supporting productive projects that help to empower families and individuals economically.



Why establish Karam?
The urgent need for associations specialized in combating extreme poverty in Tukarem Governorate in particular and Palestine in general.
The large number of unemployed graduates.
Lack of national interest in the governorate, despite being an important crossing for the future Palestinian state as a result of its proximity to the Green Line.
The deterioration of the general Palestinian situation and the aggravation of the financial crisis, which led to:
- Economic recession,
- Declining private sector investments,
- Lack of foreign aid, which diminished the ability of the Palestinian government to meet its financial obligations.

La pauvreté et le chômage, en particulier chez les femmes et les jeunes, pour les raisons suivantes :
- The increased poverty rate in Palestine which reached 25.8%, 12.9% of these poor people live in extreme poverty (under the poverty line).
- The unemployment rate among labor force which reached 25.2%.
- Unemployment among young people in the 20-24 age group which reached 43.9%.
- Deprivation and marginalization which led brain drain due to the lack of opportunities.

The most important activities of the charity in 2019 :
- Providing Iftar meals for poor families in the month of Ramadan,
- Providing in kind assistance for economically disadvantaged groups during Eid Al-Fitr,
- Helping in need students with University tuitions,
- Providing emergency humanitarian aid of 1500 LIS,
- Holding an international conference with international participation on children’s rights at Tulkarem’s governorate headquarters,
- Creating a resources room at Ektaba Girls High School,
- Distributing meals to 20 students at Enshirah Al-Dado School,
- Providing a diabetes kit for a 9-year-old economically disadvantaged child,
- Obtaining approval from Tulkarem’s municipality to open a booth for a man in need to prepare him for a job.
