
Mr. Roberto Bissio, born in Uruguay, coordonates the secretariat of Social Watch and he is the Executive Director of the Third Wolrd Institute
Social Watch, an international network of citizens’ organisations from over 80 countries, reports every year on how governments and international organisations are implementing their commitments to eradicate poverty and for gender equality.
He is the Executive Director of the Third World Institute, a non-profit research and advocacy organisation based in Uruguay He is also a member of the International Committee of Third World Network; and advisor to ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) on accountability issues; and a member of the Civil Society Advisory Committee to the UNDP Administrator. Roberto Bissio has been writing about development problems since 1973 as a journalist and columnist and is the author of reference books such as “Third World Guide” and “World Guide” published in various languages between 1979 and 2009.
