Ms Alumanah, orginally from Nigeria, founded in 2006 the Action in Distress ( AID) foundation and she is currently its director.
Action in Distress was created to respond to the needs and difficulties of women and young people in Nigeria.
The foundation works ont the conditions that can lead to a self-destructive way of life among womend and young people in Nigeria by offering them long-term solutions, and thus avoiding them turning to violence, crime and delinquency. Through the offered projects, women and young peoples have the opportunity to have a real access to personal development programmes.
Ms Alumanah is also a teacher a the University of Nigeria.
