Andrew Kelly currently lives in Dublin. He is an activist with ATD Fourth World in Ireland
He has lived through poverty and he knows the difficulties, but today he stands up and speaks not only for himself, but also for others. Andrew recently spoke on behalf of ATD Ireland to two Irish Ministers who are campaigning for socio-economic discrimination to be recognized in Irish equality law. He also spoke to social work students at Trinity College Dublin, as part of a Poverty Awareness Practices Module.
He participated in the Expert Workshop “Dignity in Practice” organized by ATD for the United Nations Commission for Social Development 2022 (CSocD60). Et plus récemment il a inspiré des nombreux jeunes lors de la rencontre européenne des jeunes d’ATD Quart Monde, avec ses paroles sur les préjugés que les jeunes en difficulté subissent, et du chemin pour s’en libérer.
Andrew is a poet and has recently published a new book of poetry entitled “Lockdown Liberties”.
