Last year, we selected the umbrella theme for 2024 and 2025, which is “Ending social and institutional maltreatment“. This year, we are pleased to launch the consultation process to choose the sub-theme for the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty in 2025. Additionally, we wanted to begin, as a new feature this year, a discussion about the umbrella theme for 2026 and 2027.
Your opinion is important, and we need your help!
To respond, please complete the attached form and send it back to us at the following email address: [email protected]
We would like to clarify that, in order to facilitate the translation work, we will split the consultation process timeline this year. Individual contributions will be accepted until Friday 14th February, while collective contributions will be accepted until Friday 28th February.
This consultation is a valuable tool that allows people living in poverty and those working alongside them to make their voices heard, particularly at the United Nations. It enables us to build the Day together, decide on the theme, and contribute to the concept note of the International Committee for October 17.
This year, we have prepared three documents:
The first document below is the invitation to contribute from the President of the International Committee for October 17. It includes an introduction to the consultation process.
The second document below is the questionnaire to complete and send back to us by email if you are contributing individually.
The third document below is the questionnaire to complete and send back to us by email if you are contributing as a group.
Thank you for your contribution!
