The gathering for International Day for the Eradication of Poverty - 17 October had his focus on some #GlobalGoals and launched a sustainable, sculptural fruit garden in the community!
"Mother Nature" sculpture by Patsy Preston : Visual Artist in collaboration with the Monsignor McCarthy Family Resource Centre and the Battery Height's Men's Shed. Commemorating 17th Oct with a sustainable, sculptural fruit garden in the community.
Event description
Workshops to raise awareness of food poverty. We will create a sculpture of Mother Earth whose arms enclose a circular of edible plants foraged by the community. We will highlighting the link between the earth's resources and food poverty, encouraging local families to grow food in their own gardens.

Limerick - Thursday 15 October 2015 - Artwork for booklet
Event report
A large group gathered in Hospital Family Resource Centre to launch artwork to mark UN Day for the Elimination of Poverty October 17th. Speakers included Breda Heelan and Pauline Dore who participated in the project, Leonie Kearns of Doras Lumni and Mark Hogan Chairperson of ADT Ireland. The art works are on display in Hospital FRC for public viewing for the next 2 weeks and it is hoped to tour FRCs and public libraries in the coming months.

We will work to frame artworks created in 2014 and produce a booklet to describe the art pieces and the stories behind them. A booklet launch and an art exhibition will be held in each FRC on 17th October to include art display, speaker and fair trade refreshments. People directly experiencing poverty will describe their work and will participate in a tour of each FRC in the region to raise awareness of UN Day.

We are grateful to all partners and friends who made it possible : RC Bang Rack, Thai BBY, SWU and BMA, Klong Khlong Toey Music Program, and all members of Friends of Atd Thailand foundation and friends of friends. Special thanks to the families and children who happily joined the event. They will not forget for long the beautiful songs of KTMP children band, and also the amazing voices of the two skilled storytellers P'Nam and P'Toon!

International Day for the Eradication of Poverty 2015
“Building a sustainable future: Coming together to end poverty and discrimination”
Palawan - Wednesday 28 October 2015 - Listahanan Anti-Poverty Symposium
Since 2014, The Listahanan or the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction (NHTSPR) of The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), MIMAROPA Region joins the entire globe in the observance of fighting poverty by initiating dialogues and symposia to various local and national governments and civil society organizations.
This year, the Listahanan will have its second Anti-Poverty Symposium in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan, Philippines showcasing various development initiatives of local/national governments and civil society organizations in fighting poverty in the context of sustainable development along with the MIMAROPA Regional Development Plan, through paper or case study presentations in cooperation with MIMAROPA National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC) in the Province of Palawan.
Infographics of Poverty Statistics of NHTSPR will be exhibited while the Symposium is on going.

Bhagya Paribartana Foundation is a nonprofit organization in India that helps and supports people who suffer from poverty and the lack of basic needs.
On the 17th October, 2015 we will have an awareness raising event in NSP Vidhyyapeetam School, Villivakam that is in Chennai.
The event is scheduled from 11:00 am to 2:00pm.
The school event includes dress up competition for kids , poster making , debate for students & Petition, Signature Board ( common to all teachers and students).
